San Francisco Bay is facing its biggest and most menacing threat in 50 years. Minnesota-based agribusiness giant Cargill Inc. is proposing a massive development on 1,436 acres of Redwood City salt ponds that can and should be restored to wetlands to benefit people and wildlife. While Cargill pushes their corporate interests and private profits, the health of the Bay and the region's quality of life hang in the balance. These foes have deep pockets, so it will take a multi-faceted attack from the entire Bay Area and beyond to stop this development.
